Buckwheat Porridge

Buckwheat Porridge

whole grains

Buckwheat is a lovely and versatile whole grain. While it's name may have you thinking otherwise, buckwheat is actually not related to wheat and is therefore a gluten-free grain. (Not that we advocate for the avoidance of gluten-containing whole grains!)

This whole grain dish is hearty, sweet, and grounding. It's a great way to break the fast, or enjoy later in the day in the wintertime. With a banana and raisins cooked in with the grains, they are naturally sweetened to maintain the subtle richness of the buckwheat.

Buckwheat comes in "raw" or "white" variety as well as a "toasted" or "brown" variety. Each definitely has it's own distinct flavor, and we love them both in this dish.

Let us know how you enjoy the fiber-rich, warm and grounding dish in your kitchen!
