Drs. Alter: Wisdom Bombs! Insights on Wellbeing and Being Well
also available on
Episode Summary
WE are the guests on the podcast this week!
We are still in the "locals series" of the Alter Your Health podcast and Dr. Susanna and I are indeed locals now, being in Carbondale for a bout 10 months at the time of this recording.
This was a great opportunity to take some time and reflect on 2019 as we both share some of the biggest learning experiences and insights over the year that have informed how we show up and live our well lives.
Some highlights of this conversation include...
- The story of finding our hometown of Carbondale (which interestingly goes back to Episode 29 which was recorded here in Carbondale!) Steps to go from cheese-aholic to dairy free
- Some big learnings and insights from past podcast guests (such as Deva and Eaden - #148 - as well as Dicken Bettinger - #60)
- Dr. Susanna's journey of overcoming insecurities and coming into authentic confidence
- Trusting the true healing power of nature and a WFPB lifestyle
- My (Dr. Benjamin) recent illness and how it taught me to surrender and receive support like never before
- A sneak peak at how wisdom guides our day-to-day wellness routine
Hope you enjoy! Please feel free to leave a comment, rating, or review on whatever platform you choose to tune in on!

Drs. Benjamin and Susanna Alter are licensed naturopathic doctors specializing in holistic lifestyle medicine. They work to preserve a vitalistic approach to health and healing, blending the art and science of traditional naturopathic medicine with mind-body applications. Their philosophy is rooted in the fact that the body heals itself, always aiming to create an optimal environment for healing on physical, mental, and emotional levels. On top of their holistic interventions, their intention is to provide the education, resources, and knowledge to empower clients in knowing that they are their own true healers. Susanna and Benjamin understand that individuals are only as healthy as the community and environment in which they live, which inspires their mission to promote healing globally by spreading compassionate action towards people and the planet.
