About Dr. Walls

A Colorado native who was born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley, Brooke Walls, DO, FAAD, earned her medical degree and completed her training all over the country to become a board-certified dermatologist and certified Mohs surgeon. In 2018, Dr. Walls returned to her home state to take her position at Aspen Center for Cosmetic Medicine & Dermatology in Aspen, Colorado. Here she provides patients of all ages with the latest, most comprehensive treatment for skin cancer as well as all other aspects of cosmetic medicine and general dermatology. 

Dr. Walls’ advanced education and training took her from Florida to Alaska, and beyond. After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, in Boulder, Dr. Walls went on to earn her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. 

Next, she relocated to Largo, Florida, to complete an internship at Largo Medical Center. She also completed her dermatology residency at Largo Medical Center and Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. In Tampa, Florida, Dr. Walls conducted melanoma research at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in the Cutaneous Oncology and Epidemiology Department. 

Dr. Walls’ studies took her to Boston, where she completed a fellowship in cutaneous oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Health Care. Upon achieving her fellowship in Mohs surgery, Dr. Walls started the first Mohs micrographic surgical lab in Fairbanks, Alaska. 

Dr. Walls has a special interest in treating patients with skin cancer and has participated in more than 450 Mohs micrographic surgeries. She is highly skilled in Mohs surgery, excisions, and lasers for those with carcinomas and melanomas. 

As a dermatologist and doctor of osteopathic medicine, Dr. Walls takes a holistic approach to treating both children and adults. She takes the time to listen to her patients’ concerns before providing a comprehensive diagnosis and individual treatment plan for all types of dermatology and cosmetic medicine needs.
