Episode Summary

Josh is pure fire - passion and inspiration embodied. His transformational journey has inspired countless people around the world, including me.

What intrigues me most about his story is not his transformation, but his consistent connection with his culture, traditions, work, friends, and family despite the major changes that have transpired in his life. As he shares, the juxtaposition of the various facets of life does keep him grounded and present in the world.

In this conversation you get a real taste of Josh's pure heart. He is such a kind soul, and expresses his passions in many forms - from running, to writing, to speaking, and also serving through his recent start-up, WellStart Health.

I hope you enjoy this one! Give Josh a follow and shoutout on Instagram if you did!

About Josh

Josh LaJaunie is an unabashed WhoDat (Saints fan) from south Louisiana, a proud cajun, and a plant based running advocate.

He grew up on, and still lives on the banks of Bayou Lafourche in Thibodaux, LA.

There, they "live to eat!," yet, ironically, they, he has realized as he has embarked on his transformation journey, are doing the opposite; they are dying at an alarming rate due to what they eat.

Heart disease alone is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths per year in Louisiana, and, he now realizes he was well his way to a probable similar fate at a fairly young age himself.

He found himself weighing in at 420lbs by the time he was in his early 30's.

However, in the past few years he has lost 230lbs and turned the tide on his health trajectory via the power of eating whole plant foods and miles & miles of bipedal locomotion, mostly running.

Now he spends most of his waking moments pounding the drum of plants and running as a way to achieve a natural, non-diseased, fulfilling human existence, and swinging a giant sledge hammer at the current health/nutrition paradigms.

Granted, he may be a layman, but he is also the product of his own primary research. So, just hear him out.
