Episode Summary

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) or seasonal depression is a diagnostic label that effects many in the world.

In this episode we cover what you need to know about this condition including some potential root causes as well as our top tricks for staying healthy and cheery in the winter time, regardless of where in the world you live!

We both have our own experience with seasonal blues and have also had the experience of completely overcoming our cases of SAD using these lifestyle tips!

Our top tips include...

  • Get outside and expose yourself to the "sun" or "light" (even if it's cloudy and dark)
  • Supplementing Vitamin D may just be necessary
  • Gentle exercise outdoors regulates mood and hormones better than any pill
  • Hydrotherapy! Exposure to warm and cold in saunas, hot tubs, or showers is powerful medicine
  • NUTRITION! Duh. Eating seasonal fresh produce really shifts your biology
  • Understand that momentary experience and feeling only comes from our thoughts/interpretation of the world
  • ALSO, understanding the cycles of nature and listening to the call to retreat, hibernate, and take it easy is also crucial for wellbeing
